Bruno Zhu (Porto, Portugal) is currently working between London (UK) and Paris (FR), and founder of bzbooks.org.
He had his first solo show in March 2012 entitled Grass Warm Trifecta in Carlos/Ishikawa (London, UK) followed by work presented at A PETITE FAIR, a four-gallery event held at Jeanine Hofland Contemporary Art (Amsterdam, NL) during the Amsterdam Art Weekend. He also participated in the group shows ‘Haw-Lin shows you:’ at The International Picture House (UK), ‘Good as New’ at Ed Varie Gallery (NY), ‘Mawu-Lisa’ at New Gallery, Peckham (London, UK) and ‘Rhizomatic’ organized by Departure Gallery (UK)
He co-published The Palace Explodes The Shrimp Bail, When The Flower Want To Oxygen and Nutrition, I Will Help You Too Much (2011) with fellow photographer Mengxi Zhang, which was featured in Binding Image’s December art book exhibition at MuzyQ (Amsterdam, NL).
Commercially he has collaborated with magazines such as Arena Homme + (UK), Inventory (Canada), Hot & Cool (UK), while also collaborating with artist run projects such as Broadcast Posters (FR), Books Online (a project by graphic designer Pierre Hourquet, FR) and 7000words (a project by graphic designer Dave Marshall, Switzerland).
His work as been featured recently on It’s Nice That blog, Phaidon Agenda, Dazed Digital, Self Publish Be Happy and Vice Magazine.
